disconnect with Belkin N Wireless Router

    Hello.

I am from Germany. As an internetprovider I have AliceDSL.
For 1 week I've bought new WLAN Router N from Belkin. Befor I had normal modem without wireless.

After I installed my new WLAN Router from Belkin i get everytime when I download something disconnected. So if I normal surf i get internet normally.

The same problem with a disconnect appears when I play the MMORPG games. I stand logged on about max. 1 hour and then get disconnected.

I have read this forum and did't find anything, which could solve my problem.

    Hope for your help

And sorry for my bad english

    PS:
My Router is this one: http://www.belkin.co/IWCatProductPag...duct_Id=372043

English is fine. COuld you tell us about your computer and network? Are you using "homegroup"?

Are there any other computers on the network?

Network: Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet
    PC: Intel Core2Quad Q6600 2.4GHz / RAM: 4GB / Windows 7 Max x32

And, yes, I use a HOMEgroup

There are 2 computers on a network. 1 PC with LAN Connection to Belkin, and a notebook with wireless

Actually I know Alice... They are DSL... so... umm that seems a little odd because when I was living there. I hooked up my girlfriends network there and it was fine...but Alice gave her a Wireless Box. I am surprised they didn't give you one.

By the way, I am very dissapointed on how they do business over there in Germany. Especially T-Mobile *cough*but anyways. I use to live in Grafenwoehr/vilseck.
My girlfriend was from Radolfzell am Bodensee... got to love those 5 hour train rides....

The only thing i did was activate the wireless but at first with hers, they only allowed it for one pc but i had to phyiscally go into the software and change the settings. Of course that was hard on me cause I didn't understand half of the german so most of my time was yelling at my g/f to translate it for me.

I would definitly see if there is an update... If you got it from Media Mart I know that they are very strict on taking things back. It is not like it is here in the states. If you dont like it nor lie to them about if it works or not they will take it back. So I take it that we have to work with what you got here.

I tried to click on the link but it was broken so i am not sure what Belkin N you have but I think there are really only 3 to choose from.

Could we try to turn off most of the NAT information from the modem and forward all the information into your Belkin and just turn on the DMZ... that way the Belkin will control everything.. especially the ports.

well can just have the belkin have a static IP address from the modem becuase I am sure that one will give out a dynamic.....

Have you talked to your ISP about the MTU
MTU may refer to: Maximum transmission unit, the size of the largest packet that a network protocol can transmit; Minimal transaction unit, smallest package for your ISP?
