    Craziness with sharing win7 w/win2000 bu server

    Hi,

    I have 3 win7 Home Premium PCs:
    1. desktop win7 64
    2. desktop win7 32
    3. Notebook win7 32 on wireless

    My Backup server is running win2000 and I need access /Users/<The User Name>/.
    * On #1 I have EVERYTHING I need!
    * On #2 I no access at all! Msg: User has not been granted the requested long in type.
    * On #3 I can see the files but when I click I am told the user does not have access.

    On all 3 systems I followed the procedures from CommonTater in this post.

    Its crazy, it makes no sense. Any suggestions at all will be greatly appreciated!

    Rusty

    You have permission issues.
    Make sure shareing is enabled on all PCs including your server.
    Go to the properties of each systems main drive and be sure that everyone is listed and all access options are also enabled.
    Also go to the network and shareing in the control panel and make sure network discovery is enabled.
    And I always disable password protected shareing. People here will disagree but it makes conecting so much easier.
    Good luck.

    Thanks! I'm almost there now... I lost the public folders somehow but... I'll figure it out!
