I have been struggling with this for about a week now. Finally I typed in the error which I was getting when I clicked on the shared file on my Windows 7 computer (sharing enabled on my XP rig) .... Basically it was the typical "you don't have permission to access, contact the server admin" (which I am) and the other error which was "not enough server storage is available to process this request". When I searched for that I found this article
Not enough server storage | Windows Problem Solver .
I went to the registry, and wouldn't you know it? The parameter wasn't even there. I added it, and the laptop immediately gave me access to the files. No restart was necessary, didn't have to delete Norton System Works (even though many posts around the internet suggested to do so).
Just wanted to post this in the event that people were having trouble and have tried all the great suggestions in here (which I did prior to finding this fix).
Now to find a work around my printer
driver and I will be a happy camper.
