Can no longer connect to mapped drives

Since Thursday last week I have been unable to connect to mapped drives. I run WIN 7Home Pro and connect to shares he network via mapped drives or just through Wndows explorer. I have contacted Norton and they were no help. I have uninstalled Norton 360 and switched off Wndows firewall and still can not connect. From the DOS prompt I can ping the macines either via ip or name but I can not connectto the share. Can someone give me some ideas of what settings/ registry changes I can check to see how to bring back my shares.
