Vista cannot see Win 7 shared folders
Hello,
I've just switched my home desktop PC to Windows 7 (x64 Ultimate), while I previously had Vista Business x64 there. I also have a laptop with Vista Business x86 and I used to share several folders from my desktop PC to the laptop.
Having installed Win 7 I re-created all sharing arrangements, including:
- having file & printer sharing on
- I assured that the workgroup name on both machines was the same
- I added on desktop PC a new user with the same name & password as I had on my laptop
- I physically made the sharing privileges for the newly created user (appropriate paths were already on the laptop)
and... no access!
My desktop PC is seen by the laptop but particular folders are not (I could understand seeing the folders but without access permissions).
The above steps are exactly the same I did while making Vista-to-Vista sharing. Thus I expected them to work on Win 7. I double checked all details, including letters casing but with no luck.
I did it via simple sharing wizard ("Share" button), but then just in case in the "Advanced" window I added the laptop user and set him full permissions but it also hasn't helped...
Anyone can suggest me what I can do next with this issue?
