Can you explain to me how can I share a folder to specific remote person who is connected to our homegroup? We have a small office and all are connected and I would like to share some folders only to specific persons. When I open homegroup I can see everyone but when I making a rull for sharing, I do not know what to write to find those persons.
Please for advice?

You can't share with a remote network using Homegroups. It will only work on the LAN and also won't work in a domain.
Even if connected to a Homegroup locally you have to create extra User accounts on each machine in order for the User names to appear on the "share with" list. If you don't do that you will only be able to share with Everyone or Nobody.
There is a process for doing this but it's not easy, I can post it if you want me too.
If you need to share files with a remote machine try Team Viewer which needs to be installed on both machines.

You should download the .xps document in the link below. It explains the process of User accounts and passwords.
For the type of sharing you want to do "sharing with individual users" you need to create a Standard user account with secret passwords on both machines you want to share between and share through those accounts while being logged into those standard User accounts.

To Chevy 65: I just found this discussion and I am having problems getting the "Share with Specific People" function to work, and you mentioned in an earlier post that this was not easy but that you could post the process. I really need this process!!
I have 3 computers running Win 7 Premium on a homegroup LAN that I would like to be able to share files between them but not with other computers on the network. Each of these computers has 2 users with identical IDs and passwords, yet I can't get the "share with specific people" to work - only share with everyone on the homegroup.
It would appear that this should not be a hard process but apparently there are some settings that need to be made that I am not aware of. I have been searching sites for days and have yet to find anything definitive that lays out all of the steps required to have this work.
Your assistance would be appreciated!!
I have the same question. However I have 3 PCs running Win 7 Home Premium. Two of the PC's have 2 identical user accounts on each machine ( [user1 (admin)] & [user2 (standard)] ). The third machine at the moment has a totally different user id. Right now I am trying to find out between the two machines how to get the specific user to work correctly.
What I would like to do:
PC1:
User1 (admin) - currently usingUser2 (standard) - currently hidden
PC2:
User1 (admin) - currently usingUser2 (standard) - currently hidden
PC3:
User3 (admin) - currently using
- Have User1 see full content on both PC1,2, & 3.
- Have User3 see content on both PC1 & 2 but certain folders User3 will not be able to see.
Thoughts!
SOLVED!
After countless hours of trying to resolve this, I had to go back through and remove every system from the group, make sure all file/folders settings where at default share/security settings. I then used the live ID with a different account on each system. Then I add all back to a homegroup and rebooted the systems. Presto, each lived ID appeared in the specific user on each computer.
