Homegroup problem: New 2Wire problem?
Greetings,
I have 2 latops. 1 Acer 1 Toshiba. ATT Uverse. Both Wireless connections.
I have read several problems folks have had with Homegroup and have checked numerous things (PC Names, Time, Ipv6, etc...) everything seems right, in fact it was right... up until this evening.
What I mean is my home network was working perfect, I had file sharing, print sharing, etc...
But my internet was acting up and ATT showed up today with a new modem/router. The installed it and to my own request they set up the new modem with the same SSID and Key that my old modem had.
Well now I connect to '2wire895 2' instead of '2wir8985' even though the SSID is actually 2wire895. Apparently there is some legacy connection setting still hanging out in my list of connections even though I cannot see it.
Well upon the technician leaving my house I realize I cannot print. I can only
'create a new' homegroup on either machine. I have re-booted and re-booted
after making and leaving in about every possible combination I can think of.
The closest I have got to fixing this is that I can see both pc's on the other with IP addresses and Ipv6 addresses, etc... but I still have no connection between the two. When I try to connect to either I get some message about the name being wrong. One PC is Angies-pc and the other is Aragorn.
Thanks for any help of friendly knock on the head you can give me.
