Unable to share anything.
Hello all, first time post. I've been doing a lot of internet searching and am coming here because a lot of threads I read on here seemed to have people that were knowledgeable.
So I have two desktop machines. My old one (NEWCHODE - Windows 7 Home) and my new one (CHODEPRO - Windows 7 Pro). I use the same login name on both machines but do not have passwords set up on them. I want to share out the whole C:\ on NEWCHODE. I thought it was possible to do this without having to use passwords. I did it on my XP machines.
In any case, I have the share on NEWCHODE set up to give everyone Full Control. But when I try to access it from CHODEPRO I get the message in the screenshot here:
This is how I have the share set up on NEWCHODE:
If I try to share individual folders within the C:\ by highlighting the folder, clicking Share With > then Homegroup (Read/Write) I see those folders appear the same way C and ChodeC do in the top screenshot. But trying to access them gives me the same message.
My homegroup settings are set the same way on both machines:
Any ideas? I'm seriously out and my internet searching hasn't given me anything new.
