Unable to map password protected shares on LACIE

Some time ago I bought a LACIE network space 2, which I would like to access as a network share. For the public part this works without any problem, but for the password protected shares this doesn't work. When I try to do this, Windows 7 prompts for a password. When I enter the password I get the responds that:

The specified network folder is assigned to another user with a different password. Please disconnect all connections etcetera.

This text is not literal. I have a Dutch windows version.

This problem has been bugging me for some time now. I can only use the password protected shares through a web application, which is very limited in functionality.
