There are a couple of solutions you could try.

    1. Update the ethernet driver for your PC.
    2. Reset the modem.

the tests are with speedtest.net; as for reseting the modem still same issue. this stinks, this is a Windows 7 issue, right? because on my laptop which is on XP it is 4X as fast......

Like KazeNoKoe23 said, do you have the latest drivers for your network card installed? Do you have any firewall or software that would cause problems?

    Good luck!

Blaming Windows 7 for a slow network problem is like blaming the Sun for shining, it's just not possible. If you want to blame something blame the driver or the router or the modem, update your hardware accordingly. I have five completely different Win 7 machines with no such problems. Don't you think that if it was a Win 7 problem that I and everyone else would be having the same problem?

1st and foremost, i am not the only one having this problem.

2nd, drivers and firmware are updated; however, if you read my original post, when I connect the modem directly to my win 7 PC i still get same "slow internet," not a "slow network"

3rd, if it isn't win 7 then why does my internet downloads run at 24 mbps on my XP Laptop vs 4 mbps on my win 7 PC? and my laptop is older than my PC......

I also have the same problem,,,I used to get upto 20Mb/sec and now im lucky if i get 1 Mb/sec.
I wish someone could help me solve this problem as it is driving me mad.
I have checked for spy/malware and virii and is all clean as far as I can tell.
My wired connection is still reaching 20Mb/sec but for seemingly no reason my wireless pc has decided it doesnt do fast anymore.
