There are a couple of solutions you could try.
1. Update the ethernet driver for your PC.
2. Reset the modem. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1 CPU Intel Core i5-2500K Motherboard Gigabyte P67X-UD3-B3 Memory 8 GB Corsair Vengeance Blue DDR3-1600 Graphics Card Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1 GB GDDR5 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster T220HD Screen Resolution 1680x1050 PSU Corsair 650W Hard Drives 120 GB Corsair Force SSD + 320 GB Seagate Barracuda SATA2 + 2 TB My Book Elite Internet Speed 50 Mbps |

the tests are with speedtest.net; as for reseting the modem still same issue. this stinks, this is a Windows 7 issue, right? because on my laptop which is on XP it is 4X as fast...... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway OS windows 7 Memory 250g+ Graphics Card ati radeon 5770 Monitor(s) Displays 3 - sony xbr, viewsonic and hp |

Like KazeNoKoe23 said, do you have the latest drivers for your network card installed? Do you have any firewall or software that would cause problems? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built/ Built by me, CR-48 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU INTEL CORE I5 750 180x20 all powersaving 1.168v Motherboard MSI P55-GD55 Memory OCZ 4GB DDR3 PC3-10666 (7-7-7-20-2t) @1.651v Graphics Card ASUS 9800GT GLACIATOR FANSINK Sound Card ONBOARD REALTEK ALC889 Monitor(s) Displays VIEWSONIC VX924, VIZIO VS420LF1A Screen Resolution VX924: 1280x1024 75hz, VS420LF1A: 1920x1080 60hz(1080p) Keyboard Logitech K520 Mouse LOGITECH M310 PSU OCZ MODXSTREAM PRO 700 WATT SEMI-MODULAR Case ANTEC 900 Cooling CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ Hard Drives HITACHI Deskstar HD31000 IDK/7K 1TB 7200RPM 32MB CACHE SATA II Internet Speed CHARTER PIPELINE 15MB DOWN/ 3MB UP Other Info ROUTER: DLINK DIR-655, Netgear WNR3500L (SamKnows)

Blaming Windows 7 for a slow network problem is like blaming the Sun for shining, it's just not possible. If you want to blame something blame the driver or the router or the modem, update your hardware accordingly. I have five completely different Win 7 machines with no such problems. Don't you think that if it was a Win 7 problem that I and everyone else would be having the same problem? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built OS Windows 7 Ult, Windows 8 Pro, CPU Q9650-4.275GHz, E8600 4.5GHz, E6750-3.8GHz Motherboard Evga 780i FTW Memory G.Skill PC2 9600 1200Mhz 5 5 5 15 2T Graphics Card GTX480 Sound Card Asus Xonar D2 Monitor(s) Displays HannsG Screen Resolution 1680X1050 Keyboard Logitech G15 Mouse Logitech G9 PSU ThermalTake Toughpower 1000Watt modular Case ThermalTake XaserV Cooling Xigmatek S1283 Hard Drives GSkill Phoenix Pro 120GB SSD Internet Speed T1 |

1st and foremost, i am not the only one having this problem.
2nd, drivers and firmware are updated; however, if you read my original post, when I connect the modem directly to my win 7 PC i still get same "slow internet," not a "slow network"
3rd, if it isn't win 7 then why does my internet downloads run at 24 mbps on my XP Laptop vs 4 mbps on my win 7 PC? and my laptop is older than my PC...... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway OS windows 7 Memory 250g+ Graphics Card ati radeon 5770 Monitor(s) Displays 3 - sony xbr, viewsonic and hp |

I also have the same problem,,,I used to get upto 20Mb/sec and now im lucky if i get 1 Mb/sec.
I wish someone could help me solve this problem as it is driving me mad.
I have checked for spy/malware and virii and is all clean as far as I can tell.
My wired connection is still reaching 20Mb/sec but for seemingly no reason my wireless pc has decided it doesnt do fast anymore. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP a6455 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU AMD Phenom 9500 Quad Core 64 Bit 2.20Ghz Motherboard Not Sure Memory 3 GB Graphics Card ATI HD 5450 - 512MB Sound Card On Board Monitor(s) Displays 21 Inch Flat TFT Keyboard Standard 102Key PS/2 Mouse 1 X Compaq Ball Mouse,1 X FACHI Optical Mouse. Plays all games great which surprises me seeing it is 3+ years old now.
I doubt that it will but I hope it lasts me another 3 years, Even if I do have to add more RAM and most definately another GFX Card., Slow Internet Speed problems? All times are GMT -5. The time now is 02:44 AM. | |
