    Windows 7 RC build 7100

    Same here....

After updating from x64 7068 to the x64 RC 7100 via the "csversion.ini" trick, I ran into problems like random disconnects after i applied one of those stupid "test updates" from Micro$oft. I've look into it, and found that every 15 minutes my network would "lose connection to the gateway". That being my 10-port hub beneath my wrt54g linksys router. I have MSN,MSN plus, Utorrent, and sometimes Firefox open at the time my connection is lost. I've heard a lot of people have MSN running when this happens, but that shouldn't be the problem. I have 2 integraded gigabit netcards in my FoxConn 955x7aa mobo. Windows firewall doesn't stop anything, although I've cleared all the rules and manually readded all the prompted exe's to the exception lists. Even with no rules and the firewall disabled on both cards for all types of networks- the connection remains..."somewhat" connected. No networking. Oh, and I can't turn on my file sharing! It's rediculous! I change it, then nothing happens! Safe mode wouldn't even change it!!! The guys @ windows need to get on this kind of crap ASAP. The only hint of the problem i've gathered...is that some of my services relating to networking...aren't initializing right and even failing. I'm looking into this as best i can, but i"ll need more peeps to respond on this for anyone to do anything.

Fixed yes zomg idk why but fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111

    go here for reference!

Vista - Cannot Enable File Sharing

I did as it says, and bingo! My sharing is responding and my networking is back on track! You'll have to do the same for other things, not just file sharing. This fixed my 10-20 minute connection drop and it should work across vista and seven. Some new Micro$oft update may be the culprit, but; alas, i have done it!

    Meow!

I'm afraid not, I just got a drop on 7201 - was downlading heavily (speed around 50mb) when it just went. "No internet access" and "No network access". Disabled and re-enabled the adapter and working again now. Hoping it doesn't happen very often...

Edit: Oh dear, 2 minutes later and another drop. I can't be doing with this any more, I may have to go back to Vista

Edit2: The problem is so bad now that I have 50mb broadband that I've been forced to go back to Vista SP2. No drops at all since I downgraded.

Count me in as another person with a "flaky" network connection. Every 15-20 minutes it drops for about 2-3 min. Very strange. . .

I'm using the onboard NIC on an Asus M2NPV-VM. x64 build 7100, and I haven't manually installed a single driver other than the Nvidia chipset driver. Judging by the number of views on this thread, this problem looks to be pretty widespread!

this is really bad news especially being so close to RTM. I have noticed my connection has settled down but I am not using it the same way anymore. The 'media library' I am not using anymore as it killed it.

speaking of the media library, WMP in 27 doesnt index the library right, especially when its "restored" and supposed to clear out media, and then i setup each library again. Audio never clears out the music section, and the Video section is now clear and wont index the added locations, at all. Tried over and over again. So it doesnt seem that the WMP library is working %100, atleast in build 27.

Since all these connection problems for weeks, i've hardly had the chance to explore the rest of the OS to see what else is working for me and whats not.

My PC has started with temperamental internet connections with Bld7201. Upon starting/restarting my internet is 99% of the time known as 'unidentified'.
It worked fine on 7137 but all of a sudden this problem has started. I'm not using anything different hardware/software wise, all network settings are the same etc, etc....

It always finds my home network, just the internet don't like to play nice. Both are connecting through same cable & the card is a Realtek RTL8139/810x plugged into my Netgear WGR614v7 router.

I'm triple booting XP/Vista/Win7 and only 7 has this problem. I thought my Bluetooth dongle was to blame (as mentioned several hundred pages back ) but this time it hasn't had a sniff of my bluetooth dongle.

    Bloody thing!!!

EDIT: just tried the WINS tip found here to no avail. If it cheese's me off too much I guess it's time to downgrade.

Win7 also has Internet connection drops here too. Only way to fix it is to reboot. Something is buggy.

update, I just ran Windows 7 update, and it seems like it may have been fixed, no more Internet dropouts in an hour..
