Wireless Lag Spike / No Internet Access

Router is plugged into Master Socket, I understand wireless isnt a good idea for gaming but had no choice since the master socket is in the living room, my signal is max and previously had no problem with it when I was with windowsXP, this problem occur when I upgraded to Win7.

Ive tired many settings with the channels but no luck, I done various researches about the Wireless Auto Config could be causing the problem where Windows searches for a better connection however Win7 only installs my wireless adapater drivers only (Belkin F5D8053 v4) therefore I cannot disable the WLAN Autoconfig because these is no 3rd party wireless client I can use.

I also tried Vista-Anti Lag and WLAN optimzer but see no improvements, My last solution was to use my laptop connect it up with enternet cable from the router and do a ping command to a website (ping -t www.google.com) to see if this problem occurs, surprisly the lag spike only occurs roughly every 10mins the ms goes from 23 to 1000+ms, well at least there some improvements with ethernet, 10mins is better than 3min lol.

Ive contact mu ISP customer service and they've said if my internet works fine then there is nothing they can do about it, gaming lagging issue is not their responsiblity or expertise, but he did recommend me paying £15 for a different technical support which I refuse.

Extra Notes: my ISP have just sent me a new wireless router no improvement still have lag spike also I have "no internet access" error from my network status randomly, but it reconnects after a minute of two.

Sorry, I know there has been many threads and blog about these types of issue but none of the solution has helped me.

I am most likely going to be upgrading to Win7 x64 this coming week and I have read about your problems, so I asked here Windows 7 Pro x64 Internet.

I have the F5D8053 but a version 3 model.
Did you let Windows 7 install the adapters drivers, or did you download them from the Belkin Website yourself?

i have done both, downloaded the drivers from belkin and used the CD that comes with it, it still only install the drivers but not with the wireless client software

In the Start menu, type in "services" without the quotes and click the top most result.
Scroll to the bottom and find WLAN AutoConfig, what is the startup type of it?

I've found on the Internet someone saying that if it's set to automatic for them, they get these intermittent ping spikes, but if they set it to manual, and then start it themselves, the ping spikes don't occur.
