Hi John welcome to the forums,

Im sorry Im a little confused about what you are trying to do.

Are you trying to network both computers together to share files? or merely share the internet connection?

You need to connect the second PC to the router, either by wireless, or by an ethernet cable.

If you have a Wifi on one of your rig(s), get a Wireless Router with a 4-port for LAN. We have in our house a D-Link WiFi unit for our 2 Units of Desktop PC's Windows Vista and Windows 7 installed (wired), an Acer Laptop using wirelss, one Acer Netbook also using it's WiFi capability, both Windows 7 O.S. and mine, a Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 7 installed and lastly, 2 PSP also hooked up via WiFi.

We maximized the single connection of Wireless Server and no problem in both Online and Oflline games, LAN connection is great while playing our favourite COD 4 and L4D.

Attached is cabling layout for a typical LAN setting using ethernet cable and for WiFi connection in your Wireless router, check the manual for more reference in setting-up in internet connection and file sharing as well as printer sharing.

We need a ton more information. It should look something like this

    Internet>router>pc1>pc2.

You can bridge connections, or simply run an ethernet cable, or use wifi.

The kind that tells us what is possible or not. Do you have a wireless router? if not, does it have a switch built in, usually a four port? Can you run ethernet cable to the second room? Does the PC in the second room have a wireless card in it?

johnn9977, you can start by filling your system specs, and write your modem router device's make and model number here...
