Monitoring Broadband access

Is there a utility in Win 7 or a third party tool that will report on lost internet access? I'm monitoring the "reliability" of my ATT DSL, and if this info is in the event logs, I'm not bright enough to find it. Ideally, I'd like to know when the connection dropped and how long it was off.

If you dial the connection using Windows's dialer, then it might pop up in Event viewer... But if the modem dials the connection for you, I'm afraid you need to look into the modem's logs (if it exists).

I couldn't find a program to watch and log your 'always' on DSL connections/outages.

I did find a fun tool though called Freemeter here while I was looking, worth sharing:

Running it right now in Windows 7 64-bit, it's tiny and pretty amazing for this small.
