Remote desktop shutdown

I am logging onto a 2nd PC in the same workgroup using a remote desktop, when logged on, I only get the option to log off or disconnect. I would really like to see options for shutdown etc but do not know how to enable this without logging on as the administrator, which I do not want to do.

any assistance with this please, thank you.

Try clicking on the desktop within Remote Desktop and then hitting Alt-F4.

The commands below may help. Use without the quotes, hit enter after you type the command. You can also try using Alt-F4 from the active desktop to restart the machine.

“shutdown -f” to shutdown
“shutdown -r -f” to reboot
“shutdown -i -f” to get a GUI
“shutdown -l -f” to logoff
