rounter address externally and ftp address??

    Hey,

I have a dlink pre N wireless router. From within my network, I can access my router (192.168.2.1), but how do I access my router from outside my network? I did use the address found in "whats my ip" site, but I did not access my router. Also, if I setup my network storage's FTP feature, what address do I use? I setup my router virtual (port21), what address to I use for external use and internal use?

    Thanks

What router do you have? There are quite a few D-Link routers available.

Are you using a dynamic or static IP address?

Sorry...It's a Belkin pre N router F5D8230-4. I been dealing with a dlink net server and mixed up the manufacturers.

I don't know if my provider (Shaw in Canada) gives me dynamic or static...I think its static, but within my network, I use a combination of dynamic and static. I have a netserver (hopefully ftp), camera set as static and the rest dynamic.
