Using Filezilla for ftp. Trying to connect to external server but when running test config, process times out and won't connect. Assuming my wireless router (Cisco Linksys) is blocking signal to external server. Any suggests on how to solve misconnect?

I'm using Window 7 professional edition. I don't have great experience with FTP and IP protocols but have some technical knowledge. I'm trying to connect my computer (hp G60-535dx Notebook, 320G) to a newly created web page. I run a test from within Filezilla on config accuracy, and the test time's out in seconds, and the operation is closed before finishing. Any ideas?

Try turning off Passive mode in FileZilla
or
if using IE:
Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Uncheck "Use Passive FTP"
