    Cant access all networked machines

This is a very strange problem. I am running the 7100 RC Build and when I go to network it shows all my machines. One of these is a media streamer (HDX 1000). I can access all machines by double clicking on them however when I do that with the HDX it times out and says HDX is inaccessible.

I am using "home" network but not joined a homegroup. Network discovery is on. File sharing on. Contrlled by username and password NOT by homegroup.
I also think I have it set to send LT and NTLM ntlm v2 is applicable in the local security policies.

The windows 7 machine has a static ip set.

I should also not I can ftp into the HDX and I can ping it and get replies.....UNC path in explorer bar does not work either nor can I map any of the shared folders on it....

    Any ideas?

    if you type
    Code:
    \\192.168.2.2\
(example use the ip address of your media streamer) into explorer will it open up? I have had dns resolution issues on my windows 7 box. If this works you just need to add a line in your "hosts" file telling the computer what ip the unc has.

No it does not.....FYI the media streamer IP is 192.168.0.170......

How do I add it to the hosts file? Maybe thats the problem? Like I said my 2 macs I can see in the network section of explorer and can access them. I know its not the media streamer as I can access it from the macs just fine and it does show up on windows 7 machine but just cant access it at all except by ftp.

if it will not go there via the IP, then adding it to the hosts file will not help.

    Here are the instructions:
Edit the Windows Vista Hosts File — MAXIMUMpcguides Windows Vista

What make/model media streamer is it?

It is an HDX 1000......before I installed the 7100 RC build I had that drive mapped no problem.....once I installed a clean install of RC it all went to hell in a handbasket :)

The HDX 1000 is the same as popcorn hour. I know the device is working with samba as my macs can access it and mount it fine as a network drive.
