Wireless drops out when transferring large file over RDP
I have an issue when I copy a large file over RDP. The file size in this example is 176MB, I am copying from a Windows 7 machine to server 2003. When I start the copy everything goes fine from maybe up to a minute, the the RDP window freezes and looses its connection. I loose all connections (other RDP, internet, email) until I reset the wireless adapeter.
I've had this issue before wioth Vista but was able to resolve it by running netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled, however it has had no positive effect in this case.
I have an XP VM inside the Windows 7 machine, I can transfer large files from within the VM to the server 2003 machine with out any issues. So I'm pretty sure it's something going on in Windows 7 OS.
Can anyione help?

You might try running these other commands to see if anything changes. I know you are aware of the first two.
- Run a command prompt (cmd.exe) as an Administrator
- Type: netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
Disable the autotunning feature in Vista completely, and fit and lock the RWIN receive window to default value 65536 bytes.
If you want to to re-enable it:
- Type: netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal
In some cases you may need to use this command in addition to the above,
- Type: netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled
Update! This command makes your network connection EVEN FASTER
Type: netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=highlyrestricted
It might also help to go into the properties of your wireless adaptor and adjust or disable some of the settings in there.
