Remote access

Hi folks,

Win 7 64bit
IP : 192.168.10.201
one NIC

Win Server 2008 r2 64bit
IP: 192.168.10.200
one NIC

What will be an easy way connecting Win Server from Win 7 on Intranet with the former desktop displayed on the latter? TIA

Hi,

Thanks

I got it. Just run "Remote Desktop Connection", using the local IP of Win Server 2008 r2.

I think there is a software already installed (built-in) on Win 7. I came across it previously. It is an open source software

Hi,

Thanks for your advice and URL.

I'm running this box, a virtual machine, for test only NOT for production.

On Linux I have tested many desktop such FreeNX, rdesktop, cygwin, HTPC, etc. To my personal opinion I prefer ssh via a secured tunnel with X forwarded to the client. It's simple and reliable. PuTTY is for Windows.

When you think of the word, remote access, you would think that it means that you can remotely access a computer and control it, to some degree. I am I right in assuming this? If so, how do you do it, what are the limitations? I am trying to access some stuff on my computer at home that will help...
