    PPPoE Prior to Login


    Hey all,

    I am running Windows 7 Ultimate and I connect directly to the internet via my providers modem. I am not using a router and would rather not. It's just a straight through connection. In order to connect to the internet the PPPoE connection has to be dialed but this doesn't work well with Remote Desktop. If I need to reboot my machine from the office then I'm pretty much hooped on reconnecting to it until I'm back at my apartment.

    Is there a way to establish this connection to the Internet prior to logging in so that I can use remote desktop and reboot my system? Thanks in advance.

    I would think that you could create a script which dials/runs the program that dials your connection for you.

I wrote my ISP login on my belkin router and it's sharing but it's giving me only 0.2mbps and I have 1mpbs. I think my router is dividing the speed but can I make somehow to share all 1mpbs?

Error 691 PPPoE

I have struggling for the past few days to resolve this but have failed. Some help would be appreciated. I connect to adsl via a D-link router via PPPoE connection, which in the past has worked no problem on my Win 7 laptop. For what ever reason now, each time I try to connect I get the Error 691...
