Internet Load & Donwload Problem (VPN)

    Hi
i have a strange problem with my windows
    let me describe it :
i use a DSL connection for access internet and also a VPN connection
VPn is important for my job and also my security as all of you know it's benefits,
but my problem, i'll explain witth simple language
when i go to youtube.com for see a online video depend on my low internet connection that movie's loading time makes me wait, and after some minutes i can play that movie while rest of it is loading in low color in youtube play window
it loads with 60 K/b as my BDTS's firewall show
everything is well till now but problem! is here
i saw half of movie and i want close that window and i want see another movie
my brower is firefox 3.6.6, when i close youtube window my internet connection with youtube must be terminated but it still loading !!!
i saw it in my firewall
it shows me a connection that using all of my bandwidth and its that youtube movie that is loading and after loading ended or i closed my VPN connection internet bandwidth become free
    another example :
i want download 1.rar with 20 MB size
i start download with my IDM latest version and after IDM download 50% of it (20 MB) i want stop it so i click on stop of download window but still my firewall showing me a cennection or a program or ... that using all of my bandwidth and it can't be another thing but that IDM download connection that still active and download however i did stop the download
i have this problem just with my VPN connection and just on windows 7
i tested it on windows XP and everything was good but windows 7
i am professional in software engineering or at least a normal Microsoft user but this problem is very strange for me
its really annoyed me, every time i must disconnect my VPn and then connection it again and do my works and so on ...
this really takes a lot of my time

i hope someone here can help me

With best Regards, Thanks in advance

Hi there attractive. Well I think we can narrow it down to a VPN Problem. I would take this issue up with your VPN provider. If it doesn't happen with the VPN off then it isn't a Windows problem.

All I can suggest, sorry mate.

    Here is what member did.

To fix the problem I change the VPN settings to allocated an IP address within a specific range (via the vpn wizard on the server machine). This way the client machine registers on the network fine.

My gut tells me that there has been some kind of IP conflict or something when I had the default settings ticked (i.e. DHCP sorts the IP allocating out).

Only problem with this I can forsee, is make sure that whatever range you specify on the Windows 7 server machine does not conflict with anything you have set up in your DHCP server (which in my case is running on my router).

Not sure if it is the same problem you are experiencing.
Let us know one way or the other.

i'm just tested this vpn connection on win xp
    with this settings :
PPP setting : enable LCP extensions - enable software compression both checked
    type of vpn : PPTP
data encryption : no encryption allowed ...
Allow this protocols : Unencrypted password (PAP) checked

this are my desired vpn connection settings
i run my vpn connection on win xp and everything was working like a charm !
i'm watching a trailer on youtube and when it loaded 50% i close the firefox window and then BT firewall shows free bandwidth simple and easy
but in win 7 with just like settings like same as win xp :
when i close firefox window still a program or connection or ... i don't know using all of mybandwith and this misterious thing can't be something but that youtube movie that still loading

i really did my best to explain my problem
thanks again friends, i hope this problem be solved cos i really liked win 7, this is hard for me return to win xp

    - Edit : for more details i use a standard valid and static ip address and over it a vpn connection
and my vpn host ip address is : 207.182.150.155

Hi Attractive. What VPN are you using? Do you have a link to their site? It might provide some insight.
