Dual boot 7&xp creating problem to PPPOE

i have Windows 7 as well as xp installed in dual boot. my internet is provided via PPPOE connection which i hav to dial everytime while connecting to internet. Problem is that i can log into PPPOE through xp, but not through 7(Error651), or vice versa. Once i logged into from xp, i cant do the same through Windows 7 until i complain to my ISP & tell them to do something. They do something(clearing MAC or something) and voila my net gets connected from Windows 7. Now problem arises when i try to connect from xp. Now in order to again get my net running i have to call my ISP. This is tiring. It seems that those guys are dumb enough that they dont understand dual booting. So I turned to 7forums for help. My question is from user side what i can do to avoid this confusion? or any networking solution, be it in technical parlance so that i can enlighten those poor souls?
P.S. there is something uncommon between xp & 7, and i guess its MAC address, though i know that macs are unique for each card.

You are correct that Mac addy is unique to your card. I suspect it is more a dns, issue. can you type ipconfig /flushdns, then ipconfig /renew, next time and let us know if it helps
