    Can't connect to Server 2003

Hey everyone. Just got a Dell PC loaded with windows 7 64-bit here at work. We have a server downstairs that is running Windows Sever 2003 Enterprise Edition.

Don't know very much about connecting to the server, and everything I have tried so far has failed, so I figured I would start from the very beginning and do each step at a time. I am replacing an old Windows XP computer, so the user name to log onto is already programed into the server.

    First step:

On the windows 7 pc, I go to network and sharing center. Then set up a new network or connection, then connect to a work place. Then "use my internet connection (VPN)". It then asks for "Internet Address" and "Destination name"

Do I put in the IP address of my server into "internet address"?
What do I put in for the Destination name?

Are you on a domain? Why are you using a VPN connection if you are onsite?

Have you tried this? On each Windows 7 station modify Local Security Policy/Network Security parameter/LAN Mgr. auth. level to Send LM & NTLM response and let me know.

Is not working for me, but what about you?

Are you trying to RDP into the server or trying to get this PC added to the AD hosted by this server or something else?
