We have just got our first two Windows 7 machines and have discovered that when trying to access our folders on our department drive our test users are getting access is denied. Further detail below:-
Single 2003 native domain.
testgroup1 - Domain Global
testgroup2 - Domain Global
network share \\server\sharename\test\test2
user1 is a member of testgroup2
testgroup2 is a member of testgroup1
testgroup1 applied to folder \test - Permissions "List Folder/Read Data" - Apply To - "This folder only"
testgroup2 applied to folder \test2 - Permissions "Full Control" - Apply To - "This folder, subfolders and files"
user can not Browse folder \test - gets access denied
if user puts \test\test2 into address bar they can then browse.
The stopping block seems to be that first folder where the nested group is.
this only happens on Windows 7 machines any users accessing on XP, 2000 and 2003 Server are fine. If anyone has any ideas that would be great.
