Tips and Recommendations/questions for buying a new Router?

Hello, all.

I have been having lots of problems with my old router (~2 years old) which is the ZIO something something one that came in korean.

it's 802.11 b/g and has wpa aes encryption but the signal from the router to the bedroom is the problem

sometimes it's good and i like it (60-70 %) but sometimes especially when gaming, the signal goes to 20-30 percent and it is just annoying.

I'm planning on purchasing an American brand N router that would benefit me.
What do I look for when buying a router?

Would it reach my bedroom and stay 70%+ everytime?

One more question: If i were in the bedroom and my brother was in the living room and we were both using wi-fi (he's next to the router, im far from it), would i receive any internet at all or will the router distribute internet evenly even though im far from the router? cause thats also another problem we're having.

if one person is closer to the router than the other, then the other wont receive internet

can anyone help?

I am very partial to Linksys network products, because I have used so many & had good results with them. But that's just my opinion.

yeah i need a new Wireless N router, I had 2 dlink router and both malfunction.
