No 802.11n connection

Hi,

I recently purchased a new wireless adapter:

Newegg.com - ASUS PCE-N13 IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express Wireless Adapter Up to 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates 64-bit/128-bit WEP, TKIP, and AES WI-Fi alliance WPA, WPA2

And upon receiving it, I installed it just fine. However, despite it being a b/g/n card, it is unable to find my N network from my wireless router. It locates and connects to the G network from the same router just fine, but the N doesn't even show up.

I believe I'm using the latest driver (if what I've found is correct).

Any suggestions/help? Thanks!

Edit: The problem is very similar to the one found here: http://forums.techguy.org/networking...n-network.html

Same driver/adapter settings as well

If your router is not configured, or doesn't offer N, then you will not get a wireless N connection.
What router are you using Pythene?

The driver I found by the way for the Asus PNE-N13 is:
ASUS PCE-N13
v.3.0.2.0 (Windows 7) x64
Size: 3.29Mb
Date: 2009/12/04

Hope your router is wireless N compatible

Here is my router:

NETGEAR - RangeMax Dual-Band Wireless-N Router with 4-Port Ethernet Switch - WNDR3300-1BYNAS

It's broadcasting both a G frequency and an N frequency at the same time, but my new card isn't picking up the N frequency. I was able to tweak some settings in the router and get the computer to find the N frequency last night, but in doing that, I made it so all the G computers in my household couldn't connect at all.

I can get an SS of my router settings if you want.

SS:

This is one of the settings where it doesn't work.

I would try resetting your router back to factory setting and then try again.

As I see it the problem is that your router is currently set to transmit the N band at 5.0GHz but your wireless adaptor is only capible of recieving N at 2.4GHz.

You need to set your router to transmit the N band on the 2.4GHz frequency or purchase a wireless adaptor that is capible of recieving wireless N with the 5.0GHz frequency.

It's much easier to figure this stuff out because you posted links to your hardware and gave plenty of info to help figure this out.

I think your router will be able to do this by setting to broadcast on wireless N and G at 2.4Ghz.
