With McAfee deal, Intel to bake in security

I'm curious: Why do you feel they are superior to Intel?

lol.. one step ahead of you on that.. built a 6 core AMD system two weeks ago and I love it... for god's sake I hope they improve McAfee's products first or Intel is going to go right down the tubes

Are you sure about that statement? As many benchmarks seem to indicate that a Core i5-750 often outperforms or closely matches a 1090T, and the Corei5-750 is $100 CHEAPER than a 1090T.

What I do with any new computer that comes my way I rip off the free trial McAfee and put my own security on it. So, if they intend to embed with McAfee then I will have to go with AMD. Saying that, the last computer I bought was an AMD...Works well!

That's cool and I'm not trying to bad mouth an AMD setup (I've used them before myself), but your statement about AMD always outperforming Intel at the same price point rubs me the wrong way. It's a common misbelief and shared by many, but not universally true.

Except for the very top of the line, we haven't really had high priced Intel CPU's since the Pentium D, Core 2 Duo timeframe. Price per performance with Intel chips has been excellent.
