Good, it's about time!
more..Following a series of high-profile attacks that leveraged security vulnerabilities in its PDF Reader and Acrobat applications, Adobe Systems Inc. is making a major push to revamp its approach to security. The company said today that it plans to ship security updates more regularly and push out emergency updates more speedily, and that it will be continually stress-testing those products to find and close security holes before hackers can exploit them.
In announcing the changes, Adobe is borrowing several pages from Microsoft's security playbook. Redmond ships updates on the second Tuesday of each month and regularly fixes vulnerabilities that its in-house researchers have uncovered. Sometime this summer, Adobe will begin shipping patches on a quarterly basis -- on the second Tuesday of every third month.
Wow they are going to use the updater that sits in you systems memory that installs with every single piece of their software.
Im with Jancee about time.
But every three months?? Isn't that their regular time window when someone finds a hole in their software??
A lot of malware is being transferred via PDF files .... since many use Adobe, they need to update security holes.
Ditto DarkXeno...
Bleh:P I hate adobe's update clients, I wish they could all add themselves to Microsoft updates... I hate how adobe thinks they need to have an extra service for each adobe product sitting there checking non-stop for updates. If there was a replacement for flash I'd be psyched... Now a replacement for photoshop, that's a bit more complex... Thank goodness for foxit:)
i like like how the only change from their products, is an even clunkier interface, and garbage software that you 'need'

... i use macromedia fireworks, as an alternative to Ps. its cheap, and not so demanding on system resources. i think it's a sub division of adobe, idk ... it works
