Eh, this is pretty cool, almost the next generation of internet browsing.
Eh, this is pretty cool, almost the next generation of internet browsing.
I'm getting used to it now, although mind you, more often than not I use the Google search bar in Firefox so never actually use the Google site itself to type in my query.
I'm too old fashioned for this stuff -- also the algorithm can get hosed up -- for example if I want info on Quantum computing but type Quantum Computers I'll be inundated by references to retail outlets or people selling stuff called Quantum comuters but what I actually WANT is information obut the whole idea of Quantum computing technology.
Sometimes search engines can be "too helpful" by far flooding you with an overload of information when less results which require MORE screening might be a better and more effective way of gleaning the information you want.
Probably me showing my age here but I already HATE stuff which attempts to complete your typing as you enter.
Probably this is designed for people so used to texting on mobile phones where limiting the number of keystrokes is of obvious value.

Agreed Jimbo. I have this issue sometimes when looking up authors or info on books, I am given 20 diff places that sell the book with one snippet of info....
But....
I do like this new feature. It is a little confusing at first, but has predicted most of my search results correctly. This saved me a few keystrokes and maybe 2 seconds of searching. I don't know how beneficial that is, but its an interesting design....
