Windows 7: Vista SP2 is out

08 Jun 2009   #91

Vista Home Premium 32-bit/ Win7 RC/ Debian Lenny

I can feel some battery backup improvement. The battery lasts little more in SP2.
That's d only diff I could feel, along with the stability (no more crash)

That's not what that is. With SP2 on now as the drives are initially detected at startup the quick scan for bad sectors/other problems is something new being seen for SP2 with the quick listing of the drives installed. Any scheduled check will bring up the press any key now to stop checkdisk message.

I am still dual booting into Vista & Win7, 18005 the last final version of SP2, and on it or none of the beta releases of SP2 have I seen that.

This I can not duplicate on Desk nor Laptops (2). all running Vista SP2.
1. Desk is home built
2. Acer Laptop
3. Intel A22M Laptop

In most cases you shouldn't actually be seeing it at all. But it's still no big concern being part of the start up process. It's likely one minor bug that remains to fixed since it was seen on the 64bit Vista while not on the 32bit at times. At other times people report this on the 32bit Vista but not on the 64bit.
