You would've thought they would stay away from "B" names after "Microsoft Bob"

Let's all go and see if we can break it..

bing is a terrible name, that alone will stop me from using it.

    Sounds too much like "bling".

I just get a 'coming soon' page. Guess we'll have to wait a bit yet. LOL.

    Wow, Bing, seriously?
The first thing I thought of was the episode of Friends where Chandler is about to marry Monica and realises they're going to be 'the Bings,' and how ridiculous and terrible it sounds.

It does look great from the preview...but I hate the name so much... it's just stupid.
I understand the purpose of 'rebranding', but the design (logo, not the layout, I love that) and name...it's like they're trying to hide that it's Microsoft.
And, agree or not, I think it should still have the MS or Windows logo.
But, then again, I love the Windows Vista/7 orb. =P
In my opinion, keep the current live logo (the white Vista orb...or maybe make it into a white 7 orb) and find a better name then 'Live', and a WAY better name then 'bing'.
But all in all, make it known that it's still a Microsoft thing.

But the average person doesn't associate Microsoft with search, which is what I think the company is trying to do... indirectly. Kindof like with Xbox.

Honestly, is the name such a big deal? Although I prefer the sound of Live search, you cant say I'm going to "live" that word, like you can say "im gonna google it". People thought google was a pretty silly name too. If anyone here is a long time gaming nerd, they probably know about the uproar the name "wii" caused as opposed to its codename "revolution". Imo, bing is fine. But that's just me =P
