I would go you one step further than using lower case in "supreme court" and simply call it the "national court," there should be nothing "supreme" about it. The people of the various states need to check the national government whether that be an executive order, legislation, or court decisions. | My System Specs |

Someone is going to get pissed, raise hell, and cause a whole slew of legal battles which will likely make its way up to the Supreme Court, where the law will likely be declared unconstitutional. So... when they say censor... do they plan to go as far as other countries out east did? Here we go .. US and Australia forcing censorship on internet users.. what happened to parents filtering their internet usage for their kids? I hate the idea of any government trying to enforce censorship upon the citizens of any country.
I still think this bill has a lot more hurdles to get through before it passes. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion pc6000 OS Windows 7 Ultimate CPU Intel Core Processor 2 Quad Processor Q9400 Series Memory 2 GIG Graphics Card NVIDIA Geforce GT230 3D Sound Card Integrated Intel HIgh Definition Audio 5.1 Surround Sound Monitor(s) Displays 20 Inch 2009F 16:9 HP LCD Monitor Keyboard HP USB Keyboard Mouse HP USB Mouse Hard Drives Primary 320GIG

This has nothing to do with piracy.
I could see this as more likened to the "Fairness Doctrine" or even the "THE RADIO ACT OF 1927".
Both of which have big negatives.
This is a take over (not unlike china) of the internet plain and simple.
"Oh, that will never happen, your crazy."
"Tyranny in America? No Way, your crazy, never happen."
All I can say, is, ,,, ,,, ,,, "If you say so."
But someone needs to pull their head from their corn hole and get a clue. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self Built OS Win 7 Ultimate 32bit CPU C2D E6600 2.4Ghz Motherboard Intel D965WH Memory 4G Kingston KHX5400D2 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 570 HD SC (012-P3-1573-KR) Sound Card On-Board Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 226BW Screen Resolution 1680 x 1050 PSU Corsair TX750W Case In-Win C589 Cooling Stock Intel Cooling Hard Drives 2 x 250 Seagate Barracuda

Bill is essentially dead, there's enough opposition outside of committee that there's no time left this session to get it to a full vote.
What's troubling is this passed out of committee 19-0. I can understand a split vote down party lines or whatnot, but not even 18-1? There wasn't one person who saw through this garbage?

Idiots. This! Oregon Senator Wyden put a "Hold" on the bill. It ain't goin' nowhere. One of the wonderful and frustrating things about the Senate is that it is designed to force a bill's progress down to a snail's pace.
Any Senator can place a "Hold" on any bill indefinitely. The only way to move the bill forward is for the Senate to vote on cloture and I doubt that's gonna happen any time soon.
Relax and write to you Senator's and Congressperson. Let them know what you think.
I somehow don't think giving AG Eric Holder the power to shutdown any website he deems to be in violation of property rights laws is a good thing. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self OS Windows 7 CPU Phenom II X4 955 Black Ed. 3.2 GHz (OC'd to 3.74 GHz) AM3 Motherboard ASUS M5A99x EVO AM3+ UEFI Memory 4 X 4 GB - GSkill Ripjaws DDR3 1333 (running @ 1241 MHz Graphics Card 2 X EVGA GTX 460 768MB Sound Card Realtek on board Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SMS27A350H 27" ; LG-L227WTG 22" Screen Resolution 1920 X 1080; 1680 X 1050 Keyboard Microsoft Sidewinder X6 Mouse Logitech wireless wheel PSU CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.2 80 Plus Certified Case Cooler Master Storm Scout Cooling Xigmatek S-1283 CPU, Case 2 X 140mm, 2 x 120mm Hard Drives 2 X WD 1 TB Green - RAID 1
