    You can compile 64 bit apps with Visual Studio 2005 and above I guess, you can get the Platform SDK for x86, x64 and Itanium64 too.

    Yeah, but the point of the article is that Visual Studio itself is x86 and not x64. But yes, it has x64 compilers for your apps.

    Maybe that's why MS won't make X64 Visual Studio, because it's not important.
