That'll be great if they can roll-up SP3 pack for Vista and SP4 for XP before terminate them.....so everyone could download those packs in case of system's crashing, none will go through hours of install anymore, my thought!
As far as I know Microsoft have no plans to produce a 3rd Service Pack for Windows Vista. For Windows XP, Service Pack 3 is the last one that it will receive until all support for the OS is ended.

If you already have original media for both of these versions then you can quite easily integrate those Service Packs into the install.
I know that, but there are still Sooooooooooooo much updates after the SP3 for XP went, and SP2 on Vista.....to download!

Microsoft, said nothing of the sort. Nor have they said there would be any performance improvements. Basicly Server Pack 1 for Windows 7 is nothing more then a rollup of all the current update. Windows Server 2008 R2 is the one getting all the new features.

No, i didnt changed anything beside applying that service pack.
Then i went to play a bit and notest the diference.
    It was very evident:

StarPoint Gemini: on intro ship took forever to fly by on screen, i notest it was fluid.
Eve Online: i was only docked at station and chatting as i had +- 20fps, after sp1 i have a stable 40fps and i tested undocked, its was good enough.

Note: i didnt changed any setting, just removed old sp and applied the new one.
