    Yes, it is the real thing. It is called Windows Security Essentials 1.0. I have the .torrent file on my HD, if anyone would like it. I will continue seeding throughout the night.

    No hate for MS here. I just am a loyal Windows (and other MS products) user that is a bit jaded for a couple reasons:

    - they seem a bit overly concerned about "genuine windows" rather than producing the best quality stuff they are capable of.

    - record of questionable retrieval of user data (WGA, etc)

    Well.. Microsoft is a company, their priority is to provide support to legit/genuine systems. If I made an Operating System (lol), I wouldn't want to provide programs/updates to pirated copies.

    No, I understand that piracy is a big problem for them, but they seem to go through so many hoops and often to the detriment to real customers. I'm not saying they shouldn't be concerned and not work on a solution. Their solutions are just a hassle.
