    Cloud Services

A Lap Around Windows Azure and the Azure Services Platform
This session provides a tour of cloud computing platform capabilities, an overview of its various components, and explains how these fit together to provide best-of-cloud experiences. It covers the journey of a developer from writing a service to launching that service in the cloud. Learn about the cloud services that enable developers to easily create or extend their applications and services. From consumer-targeted applications and social networking web sites to enterprise class applications and services, these services make it easy for you to give your applications and services the most compelling experiences and features.
Developing and Deploying Your First Azure Service
In this session we will take a tour of the capabilities of the Microsoft cloud platform by building and running a simple service using the platform SDK. The sample service highlights some of the features of the platform including service management, storage, and an integrated developer experience. This is a demo-heavy session.
A Lap Around the Live Framework and Mesh Services
Learn about the Live Framework, our latest offering for developers programming against our Live Services from any device, platform, runtime, or programming language. See new and future services (such as Mesh Services), protocols, APIs, and tools which enable your web, service, or client applications to access, store, and synchronize user data with Live Services, obtain audience analytics data, and more.
Developing Applications Using Microsoft SQL Data Services
In the near future, applications will be developed using a combination of custom application code and online building block services, including data-centric services. In this session we discuss advancements in the Microsoft development platform and online service interfaces to enable seamless interaction with data services both on-premises (e.g., ADO.NET Data Services Framework over on-premises SQL Server) and in the cloud (e.g., SQL Server Data Services). Learn how you can leverage existing know-how related to LINQ (Language Integrated Query), data access APIs, data-binding, and more when building applications using online data.

    Client and Presentation

    ASP.NET and JQuery
JQuery is an open source JavaScript library that has a passionate following among Ajax developers. Microsoft is integrating the open source JQuery library into both the ASP.NET Web Forms and ASP.NET MVC frameworks and providing full product support. Learn how you can take advantage of JQuery to build richly interactive client-side Ajax applications when developing either ASP.NET Web Forms or ASP.NET MVC applications. Also see how JQuery works in combination with ASP.NET AJAX to provide the best framework for building Ajax applications.
Developing Data-Centric Applications Using the WPF DataGrid and Ribbon Controls
Business apps live on data. In this demo-focused talk, we'll show how we've made building data-centric business applications in WPF easier with the new DataGrid, Ribbon, and Calendar/DatePicker controls. As we build the application, we'll also give you a sneak peek at how building data-bound apps will be significantly easier in Visual Studio 2010.
Building Business-Focused Applications Using Silverlight 2
What if you could develop your solutions with the ease pioneered by Microsoft Office Access, deploy them like an Internet application, and take advantage of the power of Microsoft .NET? Learn about an exciting new technology that is all about making business applications for RIA (Rich Internet Applications) much easier to build. In this session, hear how we've made n-tier application development as simple as traditional 2-tier, provided application level solutions to developers, and how we're doing all of this with the same .NET platform and tools on both the client and server.
    ASP.NET 4.0 Roadmap
Take a walk through the 4.0 landscape from ASP.NET and learn how you can get involved in shaping ASP.NET future. This talk focuses on the next release of ASP.NET including web forms and MVC. Do you love web forms? See how you can take control of your control IDs, display images using the new DynamicImage control, learn about better ViewState management in GridView and ListView, and get more control over the CSS markup of ASP.NET server controls. See how Dynamic Data makes building your data-driven apps easy. If you're interested in AJAX, we show you further advancements in client rendering and binding. If you're considering MVC, we look at the feature set and understand how to create applications with this technology.

    Tools, Language and Framework

The Future of Managed Languages: C# and Visual Basic
In this session we will outline the future of C# and Visual Basic. Learn about the new capabilities of the next versions of these languages, including additional LINQ features, syntax simplifications, and a host of other improvements. Also gain insight into possible future features, including meta-programming and scripting.
    A Lap Around "Oslo"
"Oslo" is the family of new technologies that enable data-driven development and execution of services and applications. Learn how to capture all aspects of an application schematized in the "Oslo" repository and use "Oslo" directly to drive the execution of deployed applications.
    A Lap Around VSTS 2010
In the spirit of an agile sprint, see how to use the next version of Visual Studio Team System to manage user stories and re-factor existing architecture. Learn how to diagnose real production problems, debug in-production virtual labs, capture test data to eliminate the no-repro bugs, and transparently plan, monitor, and adapt software projects.
    An Introduction to Microsoft F#
Learn about Microsoft´s new language, F#, a typed functional programming language for the Microsoft .NET Framework. F# combines functional programming with the runtime support, libraries, tools, and object model of .NET. Understand how F# asynchronous workflows help tame the complexity of parallel and asynchronous I/O programming and how to use F# in conjunction with tools such as Parallel Extensions for .NET.
