I heard something among these lines: "Microsoft copied Google Search and named it Bing. If only they had done that with Chrome..."

Now, even if top minds works at Bing team, it is a ridiculous coincidence a particular mispelled word appears in both search results in near identical results/ranks. If that is not a copy, then it is a complete bad luck.

I s'pose its rather easy to...
Every time you google (verb) on Google (noun), you'll notice the query in the address bar.
All Microsoft need to do, in when you bing (verb) on Bing (noun) send that search request to Google (noun) filter out everything thats not a result (by way of looking at the xml), and return it as their own Bing (noun) results.
Effectively, you've just Googled (verb) on Bing (noun)
    Easy.

Oh wait... Microsoft stole from me! I did exactly that for a project in my last year of high school, before the Google Custom Search tool was made.

If you read the article, Google specifically set a trap for Bing, and checked the results.

As I said, "if that is not a copy, then it is a complete bad luck." To be caught cheating = bad luck :)

In this age of Technology, everything is copied....
    So what's the problem here!
    It's just choice.
    I prefer Google
Looks nicer and they were there 1st...

In all fairness, its not the first time results have been copied.
I recall having an issue, so naturally I googled. The first 5 results were all from different sites/forums. But each one had the exact same question, word for word. 3 of them had the exact same answers, word for word, then the thread closed.

I remember a certain website arching every single thread and post here...
