Windows 7 SP1 RTM Can Break Some Programs Quote: While installing Service Pack 1 RTM on top of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 should be a walk in the park for the vast majority of users, there will also be those that are bound to come across some issues.
According to Microsoft, the deployment of SP1 RTM can negatively impact a select list of programs if they’re already installed in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
The Redmond company has published KB2492938 detailing the problems that customers can come across.
The software giant provided examples of programs that will not run after installing Service Pack 1 RTM, including IncrediMail Xe 2.0 from IncrediMail Ltd., Lenovo System Update from Lenovo, and Ninja Trader 7.0; 6.5 from Ninja Trader. Unfotunately that's the nature of updates - sometimes programs get broken. I'm sure this is something Microsoft tried to avoid but with all the PC configurations out there with their various software packages some are bound to get broke
Hopefully it won't be too bad and Microsoft will have/issue quick fixes/workarounds. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Built by me OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Intel Core i7-950 (3.06GHz) OC to 3.8GHz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 rev 1, F6 Bios Memory 12 gig Corsair DDR3 Dominator GT Memory (3X 4GB) Graphics Card AMD Radeon HD6950 2gig (Sapphire) Sound Card X-Fi Titanium Fatality Pro Monitor(s) Displays HP ZR22w 22" LCD Monitor Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard Logitech Wireless Wave Mouse Logitech Performance MX PSU Antec Signature - SG-850 Case Cooler Master HAF X Cooling Noctua NH-C12P SE14 Hard Drives Primary - OCZ Vertex 4 SSD (256GB). Incredimail has left a long lasting very bad taste for any PC imo.
Which is why I did say, imo on my previous post.
It used to be the leading cause of problems/malware issues on all PC's it was installed on.
It was then considered garbage, and I am sure that anyone who remembers, still does. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self Built OS Win 7 Ultimate 32bit CPU C2D E6600 2.4Ghz Motherboard Intel D965WH Memory 4G Kingston KHX5400D2 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 570 HD SC (012-P3-1573-KR) Sound Card On-Board Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 226BW Screen Resolution 1680 x 1050 PSU Corsair TX750W Case In-Win C589 Cooling Stock Intel Cooling Hard Drives 2 x 250 Seagate Barracuda

I guess they were bored after doing such a good job with the initial release. Let's go ahead and break everything with the first service pack, the old bait & switch. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Samsung Chronos 7 OS windows 7 Pro 64Bit CPU 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7-2675QM Memory 8GB Graphics Card Intel HD Graphics 3000/Radeon HD 6490M Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Built in LCD and external Dell 22 inch LCD Screen Resolution 1600x900 Hard Drives 1 TB HDD Internet Speed 20 MBPS Down 1500 KBPS Up |
