Well I just Google'd "Firefox 4 RC blurry" and it does seem that some other people are having this issue too. However, I am not. The installer upgraded my FF install from 3.6.15 to 4.0 RC.

There are some posts on Google which reference "Direct2D" as being in use for the text. Also there is the obvious term hardware, therefore your computer abilities or lack there of may be an issue? Perhaps you might want to run the DirectX updater too? I did that on (this) recent install of Window's 7 and it found a ton of "Direct NAMEHERE" updates for update/installation. it may help, or may not, but it doesn't hurt to be up to date.

How exactly does it look for you? It looks just peachy on my end and runs perfectly too.
It looks blurry, and it looks like a different font completely than what 3 used. Downloaded RC1 again, and I can't get over this font change, I really can't.
This Blurry effect is related to MS Direct write, be aware that it also affects IE9, its only up to MS to fix their API, it is unrelated to DirectX

    Oh what the hell!?

I deleted Firefox 3.5, Firefox 4 and all my addons and whatnot. Reinstalled 3.5, then 4 over it, and now it's fine

That's why some web pages recommend starting over with a new user profile for Firefox for each new release of the browser. No chance of incompatible settings and such being migrated across the versions. In your case you done a full removal then reinstall, which has the same result. It's good that you got it sorted out now :)

has 4.0 RC frozen for anyone lately? because it froze a couple of times for me now. First was when I was watching a video on CNN's website, and the second time was when I was trying to restart my computer and firefox froze so I had to force shutdown (i never used force shutdown on firefox beta before).

so yea, has anyone else experienced any freezing?

Yep, downloaded a Theme that ALMOST looks like my Chromifox one. I downloaded all my other addons that work. Linkification doesn't yet. I also downloaded Status 4 Evar. Which puts the Hover Links back in the now newly named addon bar as well as the Green Status bar. One thing that supposedly works in 4 that I can't find is Download Status Bar. Hmm

I believe that feature was removed. However for downloads you can always install the addon "Download Statusbar". 789 reviews on the link below and a solid five star rating.

    Download Statusbar 0.9.8

View and manage downloads from a tidy statusbar - without the download window getting in the way of your web browsing.

Did they fix the Text Rendering issue yet
This is interesting. On my system, the fonts render much better in Fx4 RC than they do in I.E.9 RC. I haven't messed with any of Fx's settings/options/about:config...etc.
