It looks like Microsoft has kept a little something up its sleeve.....I haven't installed 7264 yet but the info in this Blog might herald some good news for those needing multiple Win 7 licenses.

well that would be good news but i'm guessing you would have to buy the full retail product and not an upgrade only.

If the pricing is as he predicts ($189) then I still did right in going the upgrade route. However, if he's off by $30 ....

Yep, at $49 each it would be a good deal...what was the limit per person?
I would bet that Microsoft won't announce anything until after July 11th when the Pre-Order is over....to gather all of those who might have missed out....

Interesting, however in my opinion reasonable price for Family Home Premium 3-pack would be 149 USD. More and more often we have 2-3 computers in house, and it is difficult to afford 3x regular price. Excluding bussines and commercial use - this path is the future. I hope Microsoft will listen and learn.

Windows 7 Home Premium Will Include Family Pack Licensi

A post from Kristan Kenney's Digital Life is reporting that while digging around in a leaked build of Windows 7 Home Premium, they found an interesting clause in the Microsoft Software License Terms. Which, according to the post, will give you licensing on up to three computers in your household. Only if you purchase the "Family Pack" version of Windows 7 Home Premium.
    Excerpt from MSSLT
    2. INSTALLATION AND USE RIGHTS.
    a. One Copy per Computer. Except as allowed in Section 2 (b) below, you may install one copy of the software on one computer. That computer is the “licensed computer.”
    b. Family Pack. If you are a “Qualified Family Pack User”, you may install one copy of the software marked as “Family Pack” on three computers in your household for use by people who reside there. Those computers are the “licensed computers” and are subject to these license terms. If you do not know whether you are a Qualified Family Pack User, visit go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?Linkid=141399 or contact the Microsoft affiliate serving your country.
    c. Licensed Computer. You may use the software on up to two processors on the licensed computer at one time. Unless otherwise provided in these license terms, you may not use the software on any other computer.
    d. Number of Users. Unless otherwise provided in these license terms, only one user may use the software at a time.
    e. Alternative Versions. The software may include more than one version, such as 32-bit and 64-bit. You may install and use only one version at one time.
Currently, the link re-directs your browser to the Microsoft default home page. When the licensing terms were compared to Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate, they found that they do not include the family pack clause.
Here is the link for the Family Pack websiite, while it's not working as of yet. It might be sooner than you think. ; )

Windows 7 Family Pack Or Windows 7 Home Premium Torrent

These speculations could be true, but from my point of view, I guess there will be a lot of torrent links out there, waiting for you to download Windows 7 Home premium for free for more than three computers. Or, if you buy an official Windows 7 Home premium DVD and use a hack to install it on more than one computer, will somebody notice?
