How do you know it won't work or won't like it on Explorer? I mean its not like we actually have it to try out.

Mm, that looks suspiciously like 7 to me, but with a ribbon pasted on top. I would be willing to bet quite a bit that their fake.

I saw those - I get the Chip feed. I guess it is those pictures that scare some people. The Explorer ribbon they show is pretty massive.

I'm not a fan of ribbon. I'm a tech guy so I don't mind learning something new.

For me, it's the amount of space it takes up on the screen. Visually it is too bulky looking for me. Even Windows 7's taskbar got the small icon treatment on my computers.

To me, simplicity is keeping things small and unobtrusive, not making buttons and menus duplo-block sized.
Looks like you're in luck because there's a great compromise solution for you, which will give you the BEST of both worlds --- the QuickAccess Toolbar. You can put as many (or as few) of the Ribbon icons you want/need into the QuickAccess Toolbar, and hide the Ribbon itself. That way, you've got one unobtrusive little toolbar on the screen, and at the same time, all of the functions from the Ribbon that you want/need to display, without having to disply the huge Ribbon itself.

This is how I have my MS Office document set up, and it's fabulous! Try it, you'll like it.

I find the QA Toolbar to be too small. The buttons are very easy to misclick, compared to the nicely sized ones in say, IE6 or XP's explorer.exe. I guess I'll have to hope the Classic Explorer guys release a version for Windows 8.

Prediction: A ribbon on Windows 8 will make Windows 7 the new XP.

News headline from 2015: "Throngs of Windows 7 users say 'They can make me upgrade to Win 8 when they pry Seven from my cold, dead fingers'"

    Nope, not fake :)

    Edit: What can we bet?
