It is only a matter of time before they probably get away from 32 bit all together.
MS plans to dump the 32bit kernel entirely maybe seeing 7 as the last version with a 32bit flavor for each edition. Could 64-bit Windows finally be taking off? | Beyond Binary - CNET News

Most PC consumers feel that having a lot of memory is a good thing. Memory is so cheap right now that PC vendors are going all out on putting it in their desktop PC's.

Consumers see the amount of memory and instantly feel that the PC they're looking at will be a major upgrade.

When the majority of Windows desktops at Best Buy are 64-bit you can be sure that platform will get catered to.

What will see that day come is when you start seeing far more 64bit softwares come to life. Along with that you also have to see the older ISP setups and networks upgraded to offer 64bit support along those lines as well. You'll notice that quite a few here are still rather limited to the 32bit 7 at this time.
