I don't condone people ripping winows and uploading it to torrents, but if people want free software they will get it whether legally or not.

I don't see why more people dont just use linux, its a great os and its free.
And what OS are you using?

It's called recursion. I just love it, esp. on web sites that have a link apropos of the subject of interest. When you click it, you go to the page you were already on.
recursion can be dangerous...infiinite loops and memory leaks...catch my drift?

by the way...I love linux myself. At my helpdesk job we have to be fluent in OSX, Windows Me(yes I said Me...)/2000-7 RC and over 10 linux distros (Ubuntu being more adopted here). I just choose Windows...it is my choice and the fact that there are choices out there is what makes computer OSs an exciting thing to involve yourself in

I really don't get you guys.... Now we have a really good OS incoming and you still think about "cracking" it. Would you ever work or sell something you invented for free?

You guys should really think how fair this is...
And don't think "If just i am doing it... it won't matter.."
As you know "Many a mickle makes a muckle"
Agreed. It's not fair at all. However, I guess people who really can't afford it should be excused. The ones who are rich have no excuses. If they are not buying, the reason is probably because they are either too lazy, too selfish or miserly or don't feel software is worth any money.

well if we keep going, MS might as well call it windows 8 with build 8000, lol

second half of july is here officially today being the 16th. I wouldnt be suprised at all if the rls date gets pushed back a month or two, maybe 3. Still way too many driver issues and HG issues with different platforms and chips. Some blame on manufacturer, rest on MS.

If they rls on "schedule" i predict 7 sp1 to be out by this time next year

the last 3 are me. But i have a defense: I paid OEM MS tax since the 80's and i didn't use ms-dos at all and windows only after w95.

Still now it's a real hard push to get a rebate on your pc if you don't want windows installed. Search the net, you'll find lots of stories of people getting stiffed or had to go to extreme lengths to get their money back for a product they didn't ask for and didn't intend to use.

As i calculate it they owe me 3 free licenses of Vista SP3 at least.

Don't forget the sport to get the OS running properly..
I'll buy windows 7 if it's just as good as the rc en many builds before and after, why?
It looks and works great, that's well money spend.

So if the RTM build is just as good (or better) then i quit with all kinds of difficult key **** or cracks.
Just go to the store and buy it, takes some beers during install...

    Cheers..

Silly question but i have to ask, does this version ask for a serial number when installing?
Im clear about the activation, rearming and all that stuff but im not sure about the serial.
Seeing as there isnt one im guessing it doesn't and just works in trial mode. Is this right?

    Thanks.

Its asking for one... but you dont have to enter a serial. If you don't enter a serial.. like in Vista your 30 days trial starts

So now we have another build out there. I've been wearing out msdn.com to see the final. When the first 7600... build was released by the Chinese, where did they get that copy? Surely it originates from Microsoft right?
