It looks like Microsoft are only trying to show that Windows 7 sold out fast to boost sales. Their site says that the promotional prices have ended, but there are still many UK stores with plenty of stock at the issue price
Still plenty of pre-order online stock at Tesco if ur missus does her shopping online (or u can register), Home Premium and Professional - £44.97 and £89.97 respectively (and ClubCard points )

Well, at least now i know what the Mrs can get me for my b/day! What to get the man who has everything? Win 7 thats what
Is it still available anywhere that would ship to Sweden? Home Premium at £44.97 that is.
hmmm - seems like tesco have run out of home premium - darn it
also availabilty of ultimate depends on your post-code - wtf? so i can't get it if i live in the wrong part of town??
I agree it means that the Microsoft Site has sold out, but obviously all stocks are ultimately from Microsoft. What I think they wanted by posting this message on their Website was to grab headlines about Windows 7 selling out in 1 day, which many websites did report, however we know it was not true as many UK stores are still selling it at the discount price. As for Microsoft losing money, they are marketing a product that they want to be successful and all marketing costs money, I am sure they will have taken it into consideration when setting the price.
