When I went to best buy I walked through the computer section. Almost everything had Intel graphics. Didn't use to be that way. Nvidia is very expensive in comparison. Having said that I have nvidia geforce and love it.

Something tells me that money is behind all this and after all both companies are in it for the bottom line for their shareholders. Not god and country.. :)

Might see a re-rise of the likes of Matrox, 3DLabs or Monster Viper Cards and all those old guys who were around in the hay days of the real video card wars.
The reason you see so many computers with Intel graphics is that for the majority of computers, that's all that is really needed. The Intel chips can run Aero, flash games, play DVDs, etc. Add to the fact they are cheaper, don't require another card or as much power....and it makes a lot of sense.
Graphics cards RRODing .. oh boy. Don't they hate each other? I remember they weren't on good terms due to the original XBox.
are they going to change the name to microhard?
I think phone man has it correct. It's a way to stop others from doing a take over. Their is no like or dislike in take overs, it is just the way it has been and will always will be. If company A has a great arrangement with company B and things are going great. Then company C tries to get in the way, well A and B have to do something to protect the good thing they have going for them. Nvidia and Microsoft are looking ahead to the future and I like that idea. Their is two things that I try to remember. 1./ Bucking heads with Intel and/or Microsoft is normally not good. 2./ Bucking heads with Microsoft and/or Intel is normally not good.
