The article says that for the ubstore/VVVVPPPP, the VVVV and PPPP are hexidecimal values that describe a USB device. In your case, ubstor/054C00C1 is one such USB device for which VVVV=054C and PPPP=00C1. So if you want to increase the transfer size for this device, you create the MaximumTransferLength dword in ubstor/054C00C1.

You don't literally create a ubstor/VVVVPPPP key and then create MaximumTransferLength in it. That will not do anything.
So most of us were not getting it, including an off site posted article - my bad on that one. Understandable in the English you put it in. Thanks.

In the instance that I can't seem to find which 8 digit values corresponds to my device, I added the dword value to all 4 I have listed to test. Still no positive difference afterwards for my personal device.

It seems like you can put that reg key wherever you like it doesnt make an ounce of difference to transfer speeds on any of my devices.Ive added it to all 8 digit values like you.So ive decided to put it in the best possible place..........the recycle bin!!!

Interesting that he says to create the subkey under usbstor and not as previously suggested inside all the 8 digit keys.

Danny

Does anyone really know where to stick it

I was amused to read Tech Gravy's page. It appears that he didn't fully understand MS instructions. Nowhere did it say to create a subfolder VVVVPPPP.

I just had to try it for fun. No improvement resulted.
