Windows 7: The Last Days of Windows 7

I have Vista on my kids PC, and 7 on this laptop. No reason to change. I can't see forking out money for an upgrade that would really gain me nothing.
Both of these computers run just perfectly fine(yes, even Vista, which I technically like more than 7).
Only way i'll ever see Win 8 is if I were to buy a tablet or laptop that already has it.

It just seems like they're coming too fast because of the long time between XP and Vista.
With the advances in hardware improved OS are needed to take advantage of them.

Of coarse, the choice to use a new OS is, as always, up to the individual.

Curiosity always leads me to try a 'New OS', so far I have liked them all enough to use them.
You conveniently omitted the biggest failure of them all. ME.

I had actually debated actually typing out millennium edition but then I realized no one would know what I was talking about either way as there seems to be a lot of selective amnesia surrounding it.

A lot of releases are missing. The saving grace of 3.1 and the ridence of FAT32 in NT-4.0.

The thing is, if you look at that entire list I only see 3 versions I've actually used personally here at home.

Which is part of the reason I think these release timetables are [insert expletive of choice].

though I did have ME which is NOT on the above list. I only had it because I was broke at the time and it came with the machine which was the first and last machine I ever bought prebuilt with my own money... what a nightmare...

I'm sorry man, but that has to be one of the most backwards things I have ever seen.

...and I'm from the internet.
What is backwards about going Linux ? It's more complex but quite powerful. The difference is the user base for linux is less then 5% compared to Windows and OSX. Learning Linux is complex, but can be powerful to have.

My first days with a Windows 8 phone
I became adventurous and spent $79 for a Windows 8 phone. I said to myself what can you lose, I spent similar money for a USB stick. But what I can gain is some experience - as if I needed that at my age, LOL. My first impressions are mixed. There are really 3 parts to it. 1. The Nokia part...

Ok, so I haven't totally ditched Windows 7...but considering how few problems I have had and the fact that I have been running it for quite some time on my home computer, I decided to start playing around with the new Ubuntu 9.10 Beta release on my work laptop. Thus far, everything is going...
