In the place were i work at summer is already installed windows seven on 4 office computer to test if it is good for one programm whit what we are working and it's doing it's job well. Vista didn't run good whit this programm. The boss seed that he had done the pre order for 36 computer.

Well the first big corp has stepped up. Just maybe some of the IT techs will be able to convince their boss that win 7 is a good OS for the company. It should also help Server 2008. Thanks for the article. :)

I think Win7 will reach the number of installed Vistas pretty fast.
Due to NDA:s I cant go into details but I'm currently involved in a couple of projects that will leed to 30 000 boxes beeing upgraded from XP to Win7
Depending on your needs ofcource but if you do use offline folders, there is a huge difference between XP (replicates the entire changed file) and vista/W7 (replicates the change). This in combination with bitlocker and faster boottimes can save alot of user time waiting for boot/login. Once again, this equals money in the CIO:s eyes

Full story...Good news for Microsoft: Intel is looking forward to installing Windows 7 on the computers of its own employees.
Intel was arguably the most visible corporation that decided to skip Vista.
And it was by no means lonely in its decision.
But Windows 7, it appears, will receive a friendlier welcome. At a Technology Summit with reporters and analysts today in San Francisco, Intel's EVP and chief sales and marketing officer Sean Maloney was asked whether Chipzilla would wait for the first Windows 7 service pack before it began deploying it to its employees.
"This time I think we'll go faster," said Maloney.
The company's top salesman also sympathized with those who passed on Vista. "There was an excuse not to deploy Vista, because - rightly or wrongly - people said 'wait for service pack X' or 'we don't like the compatibility issues.'"
But this time out, Maloney said, "There are really good reasons for the business client in terms of security, power management - lots of good reasons why you'd go for it."
